From 10 to 21 July we were in Tbilisi, for the Summer School and the conference focussed Georgian manuscripts, both organized by the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts: a unique opportunity to learn more about the outstanding collections of the Centre, which include not only manuscripts but also a rich collection of early printed books, and to get in touch with the professionals of the Centre.
Lectures and presentations touched on the different aspects of the manuscript, from the textual to the codicological ones, and allowed an international discussion not only on book making techniques, but also on the subjects of safeguard, conservation and promotion of special collections.
On this basis we discussed a collaboration framework between the Centre and AMALIA, a collaboration for which we will work in the coming months. We will keep you posted.
